Welcome!
This website is a one-woman show, and I am not always completely up to date with it.
There will be some exciting news in 2026!
STAY TUNED!
Thank you for stopping by, and thanks for your patience!

Years in the making! Releasing April 24, 2026 on New Focus Recordings: Prayers for a Feverish Planet, Volume 1.
“Her uplifting idealism in curating this project is
matched by her virtuosity and lyricism in the realization of these evocative works.
From electroacoustic pieces using pre-recorded environmental sounds to those integrating spoken texts, and from prepared piano to extended techniques, DuHamel has curated a collection that has engaging contrast and sonic diversity. Even without a shared thematic focus, it would be a compelling recording. That these pieces share a thematic focus on a crisis of utmost concern only adds to the import of the project,
and is a great reminder of how artists can join together to voice a collective response to issues of our time.“
I had the great fortune in 2025 to premiere some works written for me at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) conference, including Barcarolle by David Evan Thomas, I Heard the Redwoods Sing by Gabriela Lena Frank, and Piano Sonata: Hope by Libby Larsen. What a true honor! Here I am with the delightful Libby following the premiere:
You can hear the second performance of Piano Sonata: Hope from this Thursday Musical Artist Series concert in Minneapolis, Minnesota, April 3, 2025.
May 2023: I am ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED to share the INCREDIBLE NEWS!
I have received a 2023-2024 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Musicians!

Many, many thanks to MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, and of course, to the McKnight Foundation.
It is a true honor to be recognized with this prestigious award.
I am beyond grateful!
April 2023: I am honored and THRILLED to be invited to the
National Conference on Keyboard Pedagogy as a featured PEDx speaker this year!
I am so excited to share the stage with piano luminaries Sara Davis Buechner, Leah Claiborne, and Connor Chee,
as I bring Prayers for a Feverish Planet to a wider audience of pianists.
See you in July!

NEWS: My album Rückblick was selected as a finalist for Best Album (Performance or Composition) in the 2022 Petrichor International Music Competition!

Grace Huang, Agnieszka Zick, and I presented on Tyler Kline’s Orchard at the Music Teachers National Association 2023 conference in Reno, NV.
I also presented on these fantastic pieces at the European Piano Teachers Conference in Guimarães, Portugal, in September 2022.
Here I am playing “pistachio” in Reno, and looking very serious, although it’s quite a fun piece to play!
I am 100% a bibliophile (if you follow me on Goodreads, you are well aware of my aspirational to-be-read list), and as part of this love/obsession I sometimes write book reviews for Piano Inspires (formerly Clavier Companion).
Here is my ode to Jeremy Denk’s memoir, Every Good Boy Does Fine. And how fun, it’s a featured review, so you can read it without the paywall. “Fans of Denk will find this review by Ann DuHamel to be as inspiring, witty, and insightful as Denk’s own writing.” (Awww, thanks!)
EDIT(TED AGAIN): Here they are! My first foray into music videos — a few months in development, I’m excited to share them. These are possible because …
I’m a fiscal year 2021 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota
through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board,
thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
(Go Minnesota Voters!!)
August 2022: COMING SOON! Possibly even to a location near you! I’m excited to share that I will be performing selections from Prayers for a Feverish Planet in many places for the 2022-23 season.
Until then, please enjoy this interview with the as always amazing Tyler Kline on his WSMR radio show, Modern Notebook.
April 2022: Thank you to Tom Crann and Minnesota Public Radio for this interview about my project Prayers for a Feverish Planet.
I’m SO excited to be named a 2022 Retreat Artist at Everwood Farmstead Foundation in Glenwood City, Wisconsin! And, how fortunate and LUCKY am I, I was also a 2022 Resident at Tofte Lake Center near beautiful Ely, Minnesota, and the gorgeous Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
I do have some news! April 21-24, 2022 — Prayers for a Feverish Planet will be performed on the University of Minnesota Morris campus.
NEWS: November 30, 2021: All composers who submitted scores for “Prayers for a Feverish Planet” have been contacted with results. (Some emails bounced back, please let me know if you haven’t heard.)
Thank you to ALL who sent me works — wow! A phenomenal response of more than 170 pieces (actually, 316 individual movements!) from composers in 35 countries. Website updates ongoing; there is a dedicated project page for “Prayers” — be sure to check back for more info.
NEWS: Fall 2021: I’m delighted to have been chosen as a University of Minnesota Institute for Advanced Studies (IAS) Residential Fellow to work on “Prayers for a Feverish Planet.” The fellowship has provided the time for me to really dig in to the works sent and begin crafting a series of programs. (Also, living in Minneapolis, even for a brief time, is amazing.)
NEWS: I’m thrilled to be a part of Tyler Kline’s Orchard, releasing on Neuma Records in January of 2022.
NEWS: Rückblick: New Piano Music Inspired by Brahms releases on November 13, 2020 on the Furious Artisans Label!
The disc features all works I commissioned, considering the ideas of transformation and borrowing from Johannes Brahms. It’s been a joy to work with and record the music of Marc Chan, Luke Dahn, Joseph Dangerfield, Jocelyn Hagen, and Edie Hill.
