Prayers for a Feverish Planet: Submission Details and Entry Requirements

Submission Details

Prayers for a Feverish Planet invites submissions for solo piano works.

Submission Deadline: Tuesday, September 22, 2020

Open to any composer. Compositions by women and underrepresented groups especially welcome.

Solo piano works of varied length, from 30 seconds to 15 minutes, miniatures to sonatas, suites and groups of pieces acceptable.

Compositions may include electronic components/fixed audio media and extended techniques. (Pieces for prepared piano will not be accepted.)
My hand span is a 9th; anything larger than a 9th I need to roll.

Notification: no later than January 1, 2021

Selection: I’m reviewing the scores myself, as I will be the one programming/performing them.

Works will be programmed and performed in 2021 and beyond.

I am currently exploring the potential for funding the selected works; I plan to perform the selected works several times—for comparison, my most recent commissioning project (the “Borrowed from Brahms” recital) has been performed in whole or part over twenty times over the span of two years, in six countries and eight U.S. states. I am also exploring the potential for funding a possible future recording.

Entry requirements

Complete submission form will include
• Biography of Composer (250 words or less)
• Title of Submitted Piece
• Program note for Submitted Piece
• Link to Audio or Video of piece.
• Score in PDF format
